This page is a part of Searchspring's Personalized Recommendations product offering.
Draft profiles will have the grey "Draft" status listed next to the page title. Draft profiles aren't able to be installed or presented on your site until they are activated.
While the profile is still a draft, you have the ability to change the Profile-id listed under the title. Once activated, you will no longer be able to edit the Profile-id, which is used for both installation and tracking purposes.
Save & Activate
You'll need to save & activate your profile in the Integration Code tab before continuing. This locks in the Profile-id tag that you've selected to use for this profile, and makes the profile available for use on your website.
Editing a Profile
A normal profile will show Live or Paused by the page title to show its current status.
This is where you can change how the profile looks and behaves on your store.

Begin by selecting a template from the dropdown. The Searchspring Templates will always be available to everyone. If any custom templates have been set up for your site, they will appear separately here.
The minimum threshold is the minimum number of products needed for this profile to display at all.
Example: If this is set to 4 and a product only has 2 recommended products to show, then the profile will not show on your site at all in that case.
Other Template Settings
The rest of the settings in this section are entirely custom set by the creator of the template itself, and should be described by hovering over the help question mark next to its name. If there is none or you are still unsure, contact the creator of that template for clarification.
Below the editing section, you can easily view recommendations for any product(s). Simply search for them on the left and instantly see a preview that illustrates which products would be recommended based on a selected seed product. This preview will update in real time depending on which product you select.
What is a seed product? A seed product is the product that the shopper is viewing, which is used to generate cross-sell and similar recommendations.
You can also click any of the recommended products to view what the recommendations are for them. The History panel below the product seed shows what other products you've recently viewed recommendations for.
This preview will not exactly match what shoppers will see once the profile is implemented on your site. Depending on the individual shopper’s behaviour, the order of recommended products will change in order to provide a personalized experience.
Note: Previews are not supported for Personal, Session, and Recently Viewed recommendations, as they are entirely dependent on an individual shopper’s behaviour.
The Precision Filter dictates how many conditions will be considered when generating a list of recommended products. A broader precision will allow recommendations to “fall back” in situations where data is insufficient in order to present some form of recommendations to the shopper. A narrower precision will restrict the profile so that only recommendations only show if they meet the criteria for the selected type, which may result in the profile not meeting the minimum threshold of products in certain contexts. A detailed description is available on the "Precision Filter" page.
Filters & Boosts (for Custom Recommendations)
If you've selected the Custom recommendations type, you can further narrow down the pool of products to show from by applying filters and boosts here.
A common example of filtering might be that you'd only want to recommend products that are in a specific season, so you could set up a filter stating that products must have something like "ss_season is Winter".
Just like Boosting Rules in Visual Merchandising, boosting allows you to create rules that will dynamically boost products with certain attributes to the top of your recommended products. These rules will continue to stay in effect and re-group your products in real time as their information changes.
