Advanced Feature
This feature requires you to have front-end programming knowledge of your ecommerce platform. Knowing how to retrieve variables from your platform's back-end and pass them to the front-end integration code is also highly valuable.
If you are interested, please reach out to your customer success representative.
Segmented Merchandising gives you the power to merchandise while directly targeting any group of shoppers that you can identify in your eCommerce platform. This can include all kinds of broad applications:
- Geographic targeting
- Targeting specific personalization personas
- A/B testing
- Logged-in vs. guest shoppers
- Shopper membership levels
- Targeting shopper demographics such as gender
You can take the full control using many of the tools that our Visual Merchandising suite has to offer while doing your targeting.
What does it cost?
Segmented Merchandising is available as part of our core offering in the Visual Merchandising suite at no additional cost.
How can I get it?
Segmented Merchandising is currently an advanced feature; you will need some technical know-how. If you are interested, please reach out your customer success representative to get started with a call to review what you'd like to accomplish and feasibility. See below for more details on how it works. Once you've been set up, we will enable this feature for you to work with in the Management Console.
How does it work? How do I get it set up?
You can segment on anything that your eCommerce platform already has the data for. For example, if your shoppers have indicated to you that they are male, you can pass that information on to us in your Searchspring integration code. From there, you can easily set up merchandising campaigns on it! (See below)
Searchspring doesn't currently do any kind of data fetching or analysis to determine information such as location, gender, A/B groupings, shopper status, etc. Therefore it is the sole responsibility of the eCommerce platform to pass along any contextual information it already has.
To learn more about installing Segmented Merchandising code on your site, see the appropriate article for your store:
Is there any reporting?
Currently, Searchspring does not yet offer direct reporting to reflect segmentation in merchandising. If you would like to track the performance between the different segments you are merchandising, you can easily do so by sending your segment tags to Google Analytics at the same time you send them to Searchspring.
