Searchspring will need to know on every page load which segment is currently applicable in order for Segmented Merchandising to work properly.
In the URL parameters for every Searchspring API request, the segment tag should dynamically passed like so, with the highlighted portion replaced with the tag.
Tags must always be passed in lowercase, otherwise they will not fire correctly.
Want to track it for reporting as well?
Currently, Searchspring does not yet offer direct reporting to reflect segmentation in merchandising. If you would like to track the performance between the different segments you are merchandising, you can easily do so by sending your segment tags to Google Analytics at the same time you send them to Searchspring.
