When adding category integration after having already being integrated on SearchSpring for search results is straight-forward.
As long as you are using one of our existing cart integrations for data acquisition we have all the data we need. If you're providing us with a custom data feed you just need to ensure that we have category information for each product. We normally recommend including a few pieces of data for this.
- Category ID - The category ID(s) for each product.
- Category Hierarchy - The category hierarchy for each product. You can find more information on this structure under the "Category Hierarchy Filter" section of our Preparing Your Product Data for SearchSpring article.
Once you have the category display in place you can request SearchSpring to integrate on your category pages. You can do this by creating a support ticket by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include any differences in design between your search and category pages. As long as there are no major differences SearchSpring should be able to integration on your category pages with very little effort. Please also include any cart admin logins we may need to edit your templates. For Magento customers, please also included FTP access information.
Once we have your category data and design information SearchSpring can generally integrate on your category pages within 2-3 weeks. We generally just integrate directly on to your cart, but if you'd prefer we provide you with a mockup or integrate onto a dev site, just let us know and we can do that for you.
