Below are a list of common indexing/regeneration issues that can cause an error. Once you've resolved your issue you can manually request a re-index in the SearchSpring Management Console (More info on this here). If you have any questions or concerns about your index please email firstname.lastname@example.org or create a ticket in our help desk.
Check your feed location and please check that it is an accessible URL.
Check your Data Feed Security settings to ensure your username and password are correct.
If the number of items drops to severely in a single index SearchSpring may refuse to index in order to avoid losing items due to a bad feed.
Make sure the delimiter set on the Data Feed Settings page matches the delimiter being used in your file.
Empty lines in a CSV feed are marked as incorrect records. If you have more than 25 incorrect records SearchSpring will error your index.
Wrong XML Element Configuration
Check the "Record Element" and "Unique Key" fields on the Data Feed Settings page to make sure they match your XML feed format.
Volusion API Requires Reset
Due to limitations in the Volusion API it occasionally needs to be reset.
Instructions For Resetting Your Volusion API:
- Log into your Volusion Admin as $apiUser.
- Go to Inventory > Import/Export.
- Click the Volusion API Button.
- Next to "Enable public XML for All Products", click the reset link.
- Click "Run" next to \"Generic\Products".
- Next to "Reset Generic Products", select the last date in the dropdown.
- Click "Reset Export".
Volusion Password Change
When you change your Volusion password your API Encrypted Password changes as well, please update the Encrypted Password on the Data Feed Settings page.
HTTPS API Path
Make sure your API Path uses HTTPS instead of HTTP, this is required by the BigCommerce API.
